About
Marilyn & Charlie
Charlie Schmidt
Board Member-Retired Military Officer
In my 28-year career as a (retired) Army Lt. Colonel focused on planning and operations, as a volunteer on the Clayton Trails and Landscape Committee, my over 20-years as a Senior Committee Volunteer and advisor to the CBCA Clayton Oktoberfest, and my recent appointment to the Clayton Planning Commission, my life has been devoted to service.
I want to continue to serve the citizens of Clayton to keep a careful check on progress without disrupting the charming character and landscape of the town that we all love.
Having lived in Clayton for more than 24 years, married to my lovely wife, Marilyn for over 50 years, raising two children and as a grandfather, my commitments are strong and unwavering in life and to our town.
Following my military career, I pursued educational endeavors in Chemistry and served on the faculty of the University of Florida for more than 10 years. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of the North American Pesticide Resident Workshop (NACRW).
Claytonians deserve a council that hears their concerns, responds to their needs, works to retain staff, is fiscally responsible, and keeps their campaign promises. I believe that my lifelong commitment to service makes me uniquely qualified to lead with strength, creativity, and cooperation, always with a willingness to listen to our citizens.
I humbly ask for your vote.
Thank you.
